Fashion Designer Marc Jacobs Is Getting Sued By The Band Nirvana

In 1992, Marc Jacobs was 29 years old designer for the American sportswear label Perry Ellis. He seemed unable to find a clear vision for the brand, or for himself. One runway show changed his life.

His 1993 spring “grunge” collection referenced the music scene that had sprung up in the US Pacific Northwest. Critics hated the plaid shirts, striped knits, and floral maxi dresses, accessorized with beanies and Converse sneakers that looked like it came from a thrift store. Perry Ellis let Jacobs go soon after. Oddly, the show elevated his career.
Last November reissued the collection under his own label with the use of Nirvana's "Smiley Face” logo drawn by Kurt Cobain.
This has landed him at the receiving end of a lawsuit.

On Dec. 28, 2018, Nirvana filed a complaint in a California court accusing the Marc Jacobs brand of copyright infringement.
The suit concerns a graphic in the reissued grunge collection with a strong resemblance to the Smiley face logo that was trademarked some time around 1992.

Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose Threatened Nirvana's Kurt Cobain

Former Guns N’ Roses manager Doug Goldstein shared some new details of the argument Axl Rose and Kurt Cobain had back in 1992 at the MTV VMA Awards.

“Look, Axl loved Kurt and wasn’t necessarily a big fan of Courtney. So me, Axl, and Stephanie Seymour are walking across the area where everybody is sitting and eating, and you hear is, ‘Oh look it’s Asshole Rose and his supermodel girlfriend!’ It was Courtney. Axl just went over and told Kurt, ‘Look, shut up your girlfriend or I’ll knock you out.’ None of the band members of Nirvana said anything until they walked out onstage, and Krist Novoselic is trying to make himself look like a tough guy. Really Kurt, where were you? You never came to our dressing room? If you have that much of a problem dude, bring it up.”

Kurt Cobain's Daughter Gets a Restraining Order Against A Former Associate Of Brittany Spears.

Frances Bean Cobain  and her mother, Courtney Love, have been granted a five year restraining order against Sam Lutfi, the judge noting that Lutfi "seems to prey on people".

The judge made the order for five years instead of the usual three against the former associate of Brittany Spears. He even recognized Lutfi
from his days with Spears and remarked,
“Why do people get involved with someone like that?"

Lufti served as Spears’ manager during the mid-2000's when Spears famously melted down and was hospitalized on several occasions.
He later sued Spears and her family for defamation, settling the lawsuit years later.

Courtney Love's attorney commented,
“The escalating verbal harassment and threats of Sam Lutfi left no choice for Courtney and her family but to seek protection. The Cobains are grateful for the anti-harassment order issued by the Los Angeles Superior Court against Mr. Lutfi and the powers it provides law enforcement to assure that Mr. Lutfi terminates all contact with the family.”

Did you know that Frances Bean Cobain’s ex-husband Isaiah Silva is suing Courtney Love and Sam Lufti for allegedly trying to have him murdered to get back Kurt Cobain’s MTV Unplugged guitar?
The guitar was supposedly a gift to Isaiah from Frances.
Isaiah claims that in the early hours of June 3, 2016, Sam Lutfi, along with 2 other guys burglarized, robbed, assaulted, sexually battered, kidnapped and attempted to murder him at his West Hollywood Home.
Isaiah also claim that his mother was injured in the attack.
He is also suing John Nazarian, actor Ross Butler and musician Michael Schenk, claiming they were also involved.
Isaiah says that they made their way inside his house by pounding on the front door and yelling,
"Police, open up!!!” and “LAPD, open the f******* door!!!”
He also alleges that Lutfi grabbed Isaiah's genitals through his pants, moved to within inches of his face and whispered,
“Listen fa***t, calm the f*** down or we’ll drag you upstairs and take turns f****** you.”

Courtney involved in an alleged murder plot?
What a surprise!

JonBenet's Brother Finally Settles Lawsuit With CBS

JonBenet's brother, Burke Ramsey, who was 9 years old at the time of her grisly killing, settled a defamation lawsuit against CBS Corp. and several others on Friday.

Burk sued CBS in 2016 after the network aired a two-day documentary series that included the theory that the boy had killed his 6-year-old sister with a baseball bat.

Burke's attorney, Lin Wood, said in an email that the lawsuit has "been amicably settled to the satisfaction of all parties."

A CBS spokesman agreed that "the case had been amicably resolved."

The complaint, filed in Michigan, was seeking no less than $250 million in compensatory damages and no less than $500 million in punitive damages.

No news on how much the final amount of the settlement was.

Private Group Plans to Search Abandoned Mine For Susan Cox Powell

A private search team plans to re-examine an abandoned mine shaft in Utah’s West Desert over the next month.
The experts will focus on one mine where they believe it’s possible there could be bone fragments, clothing or jewelry linked to Susan. They will also search a few other nearby shafts.

The remote site is a few miles from where Susan's husband, Josh Powell said he took his two sons camping the night his wife vanished from their West Valley City home.

There was a tip received by the group about the spot in December from a man “who had a lot of information about West Desert mines” and the searches that took place there in 2010.

Susan Cox Powell was a young mother who disappeared 9 years ago. She was last seen on Dec. 6, 2009. No trace of her has ever been found.

Her husband, Josh Powell said he left his wife at home that night when he took his young on a camping trip in the West Desert in freezing temperatures.

Josh denied any involvement in her disappearance and long suggested that Susan Powell ran away.

On Feb. 5, 2012, Josh Powell killed the boys and blew up the home with him and the boys inside.

The Disappearance of Tara Calico

Tara Leigh Calico was born on February 28, 1969 in Belen, New Mexico to Patty Doel.
She was willfully pursuing her dreams and mature beyond her years after recovering from a car wreck in high school.
She wasn't going to let anyone stand in her way.

She was a 19-year-old college sophomore, studying psychology at the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus in 1988. On Tuesday, September 20th, it was after 9 in the morning and she was headed out for a ride on her mothers pink huffy bike. She was heading out from her family’s house in Rio Communities, New Mexico with her Walkman cassette player and a Boston tape.

The route she supposedly took along, New Mexico State Road 47, was roughly 35 miles and one she frequented almost every morning, sometimes with her mother Patty.
Patty had recently stopped riding with Tara, because she felt like she was being stalked by a motorist.
Patty advised her daughter to carry mace, but Tara rejected the idea.
Tara planned on being back in time to meet her boyfriend for tennis around noon.

A few days earlier she had taken a bike ride and had a flat tire, this was her first ride since.

Tara told her mom
"If I’m not back by noon, come look for me."
Her family never heard from her ever again.

Hours passed.  It was around noon and Patty was worried because Tara wasn't home yet. Concerned that she was stranded on the side of the road, Patty headed out in search of Tara. Patty searched the route her daughter usually took, and when she couldn't find Tara, Patty called the police.

Tara didn’t make her tennis match or her afternoon classes. She was gone, nowhere to be found, as if she had vanished into thin air.

The bike tracks going off the pavement, pieces of Tara's Walkman and a cassette tape were all later discovered one to three miles south of where Tara was last seen riding north toward her home close to a secluded campground. Patty believed that Tara might have dropped the pieces in an attempt to mark her trail.

Several people claimed to have seen Tara riding her bicycle. No one has come forward saying that they witnessed her abduction, but several witnesses observed a light-colored pickup truck, possibly a 1953 Ford with a camper shell, following closely behind her.
All of the witnesses told police they saw her wearing earphones and appeared unaware of anyone behind her.

Investigators learned that in the months before she went missing, “threatening notes” were left on her vehicle.

Months went by with no new leads. Then on June 15, 1989, on a hot summer day, in Port St. Joe, Florida, a lady shopping at a local grocery store spotted a Polaroid picture lying in the parking lot. Curious she picked it up.
In the photo, there was a teen girl and a young boy, staring at the camera with their hands tied behind their backs and duct tape covering their mouths. They’re both lying on a bed, which appears to be in the back of a van or bus.
A white, windowless, Toyota cargo van had been parked in the area where the picture was found, but the driver was never located. He’s described as a white male with a mustache, who appeared to be in his 30s.

Patty was convinced the girl in the photo was her daughter. The hair, eyes, and skin complexion matched, and the girl in the photo had a skin discoloration on her right leg in the exact spot that Tara had a scar. There was a copy of the V.C. Andrew’s book My Sweet Audrina lying on the bed next to the girl. Andrews was Tara’s favorite author.

Scotland Yard analyzed the photo and concluded that the woman was Tara, but a second analysis by the Los Alamos National Laboratory disagreed. An FBI analysis of the photo was inconclusive.

According to Joel Nugent, the Gulf County sheriff who worked the Florida case, both kids appeared to be terrified.
“It obviously is two kids with terror written all over them. It’s kind of a bad time when you have to look at something like that…. No one knows for sure if it [the picture] was a set up. Some people think it was a staged photograph, but it was a real look of fear to me.”

Another Polaroid was found near a construction site in Montecito, California, and is a blurry photo of a girl's face with tape covering her mouth, and light blue striped fabric behind her, similar to that on the pillow in the Toyota van photo. It was taken on film that was not available until June 1989.

In the days, weeks, months and years after Tara’s disappearance, Patty worked tirelessly searching for her missing daughter.
She never gave up hope, even until the day she died in May 2006. Patty succumbed to complications from a series of strokes.

Former Valencia County Sheriff Rene Rivera had been following the case since 1989. In 2008, he claimed he knew what happened to Tara. He said he’d been told a truck had accidentally hit Tara. Rivera believed local boys were in the truck and that they had help hiding her body and concealing the truth. He said it was hard to make a case stick without a body.

A multi-agency task force examined Tara's disappearance in 2013 and 2014.

Both the FBI and the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office are probing at least two living local suspects, though they decline to discuss their probable theories or the suspects’ names.

No arrests have been made and the case remains open.

When she was last seen, Tara was 5'7 tall, 120 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. She was wearing an orange sweater, a white t-shirt with '1st National Bank of Belen' on it (size medium), white shorts with green stripes, white ankle socks, and white and turquoise Avia tennis shoes. She was also wearing a gold butterfly ring with a diamond insert, a gold amethyst ring, and half-inch gold hoop earrings.
Tara has a large scar on the back of her right shoulder and a scar on her calf. She has a dime-sized brown birthmark on the back of one of her legs. She has a lazy eye and has a cowlick on her right temple. She has previously had braces on her teeth, and her ears are pierced.

Will Kelsey Berreth's Body Ever Be Found?

Kelsey Berreth  was a 29-year-old flight instructor from Woodland Park, Colorado.
She hasn’t been seen in public since Thanksgiving afternoon, when surveillance video captured her with her daughter entering a local market.
Now her fiance, Patrick Frazee, is being accused of her suspected murder.

Kelsey and Frazee met online two years ago when Kelsey lived in Warden, Washington.
Within months, Kelsey moved to Colorado to be with Frazee.
Frazee has a business shoeing horses.
Frazee and Kelsey did not live together.

Frazee told police that he and his fiancé met up on Thanksgiving, so that she could hand off their daughter to him.
Kelsey was reported missing by her mother- who lives out of state- 10 days later, on Dec. 2, 2018.

Frazee was arrested on Dec. 21, 2018, and remains in police custody without bond.
Prosecutors state they believe her suspected killing was planned over two months, allegedly by her fiancé, Patrick Frazee.
Patrick Frazee, 32, faces three counts of solicitation to commit murder in Kelseys death.
She is the mother of his 1-year-old daughter, who is now staying with Kelsey's parents.

Frazee allegedly solicited an individual three times or three people on three separate occasions as part of an alleged murder plot.

Prosecutors filed two murder counts because they have two theories about how the presumed killing may have taken place: either Frazee killed Kelsey by himself, or he and someone else allegedly tried to rob Kelsey before she was killed.

Frazee will be back in court on Friday for the next hearing in his case.
If convicted, he faces life imprisonment as well as a possible death sentence.

No motive has been announced yet, but relatives say Kelsey had ended the engagement weeks before vanishing.
Others have claimed the couple split the day of the alleged killing.

Three days after she vanished, Kelsey's mobile phone pinged on a cell tower near Gooding, Idaho, nearly 600 miles from her home.
That same day, texts from the phone were sent to her employer, saying she would not be at work for the next week.

The F.B.I is now involved and looking at a woman in Idaho who may have disposed of Kelsey's phone.
