Snitches Get Stitches: The Murder Of Jam Master Jay: UPDATED ON 8/17/2020 Arrests Made!

UPDATE:Ronald “Tinard” Washington and Karl Jordan Jr. were charged with murdering Jam Mastery Jay during a drug deal at the studio that ended with the turntable wizard being shot at point-blank range.

Court papers said Washington and Jordan were involved in “a conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of a mixture or substance containing cocaine,” and “did knowingly and intentionally kill” Jay.

Washington was convicted in 2007 in a string of armed robberies in New York City and on Long Island and is currently serving a more than 17-year prison sentence. He was due to be released in April 2021.

Jordan is charged with being the trigger man and pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Brooklyn federal court Monday afternoon. Washington is set to be arraigned later in the week.
Jam Master Jay
"Back in the day, if someone said that hip hop and rap was a fad, that was a joke to me because they just didn't know what they were talking about."-Jason Mizell

He was the kind of guy that would help friends and strangers alike if they were in need. He single-handedly helped to commercialize rap music.

Jam Master Jay was born as Jason William Mizell on January 21st, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York to  Jesse Mizell and a school teacher named Connie Thompson Mizell. He was the youngest of three siblings. He  always loved music and would often make music out of ordinary objects. At age 3, Jason began playing trumpet. He learned to play bass, guitar, and drums. He performed at his church and in various bands. After he and his family moved to Hollis, Queens, New York City in 1975 at the age of 10, he discovered the turntables.

Hollis was a lower middle class neighborhood. People had moved there from the hoods to seek a better life. All the kids that hung out on Hollis Avenue were called the "Hollis Crew". Jason, Randy Allen and Darren Jordan aka "Big D", who lived across the street from Jason and DJ Hurricane, were some members of the Hollis Crew. The Hollis Crew protected the neighborhood from outsiders who would come around and try to cause trouble. Jason was the peacekeeper of the neighborhood and people always felt safe when he was around.

At 13 years old Jason felt like he was good enough to play in front of people. He attended Andrew Jackson High School and started calling himself Jazzy Jase. Jason started playing in parks, local parties and bars. He became a DJ because he just wanted to be a part of the band. He played bass and drums in several garage bands. In 1982, he joined Joseph "Run" Simmons and Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels just after they graduated from high school and agreed to DJ for them. Run And D.M.C. also adopted Jason's wardrobe.

Around 1984 Howard "Happy" Mason and Lorenzo "Fat Cat" Nicolas formed and ran a drug smuggling gang called the Bebos.  They began selling drugs in Hollis and netted as much as $200,000 per month in profit.

On Run-D.M.C's album Raising Hell, they covered rock band Aerosmith's song  "Walk this way." Jason also played keyboards, bass, and live drums in addition to his turntable work. After the release of this album, Run-D.M.C was rocketed to superstardom.

Jason made a lot of money and he would share his wealth. He wanted everyone to do well and would help those out that he could. During Christmas time he'd give out gifts in his neighborhood. That is what Run-DMC's song "Christmas at Hollis" is about.

The Hollis Crew would would travel with Jason and Run-DMC and work for them as security. Jason tremendously helped Randy Allen and Big D and their families.

In 1989, the popularity of Run-D.M.C. started to fade and Jason established Jam Master Jay Records. The label is most known for signing 50 Cent and Onyx. During this time, gangster rap was introduced to the music scene and the world as Jason knew it became more violent. On consecutive Christmas holidays, he survived a car accident and a gunshot wound to the leg, respectively. He also had been receiving threatening, anonymous phone calls. Jason started carrying a gun for protection.

On October 30th, 2002, Bonita, had a funny feeling as the cold rain poured down.

Bonita's brother, Jason, was in his recording studio five minutes from where he grew up. It was about 7:30 p.m. and Jason's group "Rusty Waters" was in the studio with him preparing to go on tour. Rusty Waters consisted of Jason's nephew Rodney Jones and Randy Allen.
Rodney Jones wasn't there at the time, but Mike B., Urieco Rincon and an aspiring female artist were in the studio. Mike B. was a rapper and Rincon was a car sitter. There was a buzz at the door. Receptionist and Randy Allen's sister, Lydia Hyde, let two people in brandishing guns as Jason and Rincon were playing video games. Hyde ran for the door as the first gunman entered, but was stopped by the second gunman and told to get on her hands and knees on the floor. Jason couldn't reach for his gun fast enough and was shot once in the head, execution style, and killed. Rincon, was sitting right next to Jason and claims he was reaching for his phone and was shot in the ankle but survived.

As Rodney came out of the barber shop that was close by, Mike B. ran up to him and told him that there was shooting in the studio. When Rodney got inside the studio, Hyde was on the floor screaming and Jason was also on the floor with his feet to the door. He wasn't moving so Rodney nudged him with his foot, trying to wake him up. Rodney then turned around and went back out of the studio and down the stairs. That is when the police showed up.

There had been surveillance cameras in the studio at the time of the shooting, but someone had stolen the tape. There was also a police station right across the street..

Jason's business partner, Randy Allen was a suspect. Allegedly on that fateful day, Allen saw what happened, ran out and may have fired his gun at the fleeing perpetrators. It turned out that Allen had a big life insurance policy out on Jason. Allegedly, Jason had previously told a friend that Allen was stealing money from him. Allen denied having anything to do with Jason's murder or stealing money from him.

Curtis Scoon was another person that was looked into. Allegedly, Scoon and Jason had beef with each other over a drug deal gone bad. Many people think that this is ridiculous because Jason never sold drugs. But, investigating this hypothesis, authorities found out that Jason was terribly in debt. He had been trying to take care of so many people for so long. And that he in fact tried to purchase some cocaine, but the deal went bad. Some say that Scoon did blame him for losing a whole lot of money. Allegedly, Randy Allen had told some people that Scoon was the one who killed Jason and that his is the one who told him that it was Scoon who pulled the trigger.

Executive at Def Jam Records,"Big D." Jordan and his son knew Jason from the neighborhood and became suspects in his murder. Jason introduced Big D's son to the rap game, by using his connections at Rush Management to get a job in the office.  There was a theory that Jason owed a debt that he couldn't pay and that is why he was killed. Big D and his son deny any involvement with Jason's murder. Big D also said that, "Everybody in the studio that day is a culprit and should be arrested or buried."

In 2003, Kenneth McGriff, a convicted drug dealer and longtime friend of Murder Inc. founders Irving "Irv Gotti" Lorenzo and his older brother Christopher, were investigated for targeting Jason because the DJ defied an industry blacklist of rapper 50 Cent that was imposed because of "Ghetto Qu'ran", a song 50 Cent wrote about McGriff's drug history. 50 Cent was seen as a snitch. 50 Cent had also been picking on Ja Rule who was a "henchman" for Murder Inc.

In April 2007, federal prosecutors named Ronald Washington as an accomplice in Jason's murder. According to court papers filed by the prosecution, Washington "pointed his gun at those present in the studio, ordered them to get on the ground and provided cover for his associate to shoot and kill Jason Mizell."

Washington was a guy from the neighborhood and was allegedly staying with Jason's mother back in October of 2002. He claimed that on the night of Jason's murder, Jason had given Washington his gun and $200 and told him to go buy some bullets. Washington said that Jason was scared and wanted protection. Washington also claimed that he saw Big D and his son run into Jason's studio around the time of the murder. Washington had been a suspect from the beginning and police originally thought that he was a possible lookout. He also is a suspect in the 1995 murder of Randy "Stretch" Walker, a former close associate of the late rapper Tupac Shakur.

Jason's case is still open and unsolved.

The Scratch DJ Academy in Manhattan was founded in 2002, the year of his death. The academy was created to "provide unparalleled education and access to the art form of the DJ and producer."

Jason was the father of three sons: Jason Mizell Jr., Jesse Mizell, and T.J. Mizell who are all DJ's. He also had a daughter, Tyra Myricks.

Brett Ross Cantor Was Killed In The Exact Same Way Nicole Brown Simpson And Ron Goldman Were.

Brett Ross Cantor
A grainy black and white photo of a bald or close-cropped man with earrings in both ears looking up slightly towards the camera, wearing a long-sleeved loose dark shirt with a crown on the left breast and a long necklace ending in a cross-like figure
He was a 25-year-old record label executive, concert promoter and part owner of the Dragon Fly nightclub in Hollywood California. He was a good friend of Ron Goldman. Brett was killed in his home 11 months before and in the exact same fashion as Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson. His throat was slit ear to ear and stabbed multiple times in the chest and shoulder. Also, the same homicide-robbery unit that investigated Brett's murder is the same one that investigated Ron and Nicole's murders.

O.J. Simpson's defense team wanted to introduce evidence of Brett's murder in order to show an alternative reason for Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson's murders. Judge Lance Ito did not allow the evidence of the murder to be introduced.

Brett was born on November 5th, 1967 to Rhonda and Paul Cantor. In the early 1970's, he and his family moved to the Los Angeles area. In the early 1990's, he served as an A&R executive for the Chrysalis Music Group. In that capacity he signed Jane's Addiction and helped get Rage Against the Machine its first record contract. Both bands became stars of the early 1990's alternative rock scene.

Brett left Chrysalis to work briefly as a promoter, putting together some of the largest concert and dance events in the city at that time, he also entered the nightclub business, taking a 10% stake in Dragonfly, a club known at the time for its 1970's and hip hop theme nights.

One spring 1993 night at Dragonfly Brett met actress Rose McGowan. The two soon became romantically involved. He helped her escape an abusive relationship that had led her to develop an eating disorder.

Brett was last seen alive in the early morning of July 30th, 1993, leaving Club 434. Later that day, his body was found at his Hollywood home a short distance from Dragonfly.

Brett had been stabbed 23 times around the head and arms. His throat had been cut almost to the point of decapitation. His tongue was pulled out through an incision in his lower jaw.

Brett was under investigation by the FBI for possible involvement in the drug trade at the time of his death. Allegedly, investigators found $130,000 in cash in a safe in Brett's office after he was killed.

His murder remains unsolved.

He was a friend of O.J. Simpsons and a well known record executive. He worked with people like Janet Jackson, The Police, Sting, Amy Grant, Kenny Rogers, and The Carpenters. Charles was a party animal, suave, extravagant and fun-loving. He was the king of the record industry’s night life.

He was born on June 14th, 1948 in Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia to James Russell Minor and Geraldine Haynes Minor. He was raised in Georgia and came to California in the 1970's.

On March 19th, 1995, he was shot and killed in his Malibu home by one of his girlfriends, 27-year-old stripper Suzette Melina McClure. She had shown up at the Malibu home at 22058 Pacific Coast Highway unannounced and found Charles with another woman. McClure killed him after he made it clear that he didn’t want to see her again.

McClure had worked in the aerospace industry, but was laid off. She then became a stripper and that is how she met Charles.

McClure allegedly entered Charles’ home from an unlocked door to the deck facing the beach. She went up to his bedroom where she saw him with another woman. After an exchange, McClure left the bedroom, headed back downstairs, where she hid in a closet until she could get Charles alone.

On her way back up the stairs, McClure crossed paths with the woman, who was heading down the stairs. McClure told the woman that she wanted to speak to Charles alone. Moments later, gun shots rang out.

Charles was found face down in a pool of blood wearing only paisley pajama bottoms. He was shot nine times in the head, neck and arms. When investigators arrived, McClure was gone, but her fanny pack, containing some makeup, personal items and her driver’s license, was found in the bedroom.

She was arrested soon after at her Santa Monica condominium, where police later found a .25-caliber automatic, the same gun that was used in the murder.

The former aerospace worker eventually plead guilty to second degree murder. She was sentenced to 19 years to life with the possibility of  parole. From what i can gather, she is still in prison and keeps being denied parole.

Did You Know About Brittany Spears' Secret Album?

Image result for britney spears
Britney Jean Spears is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. Born in McComb, Mississippi and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, she appeared in stage productions and television series, before signing with Jive Records in 1997. Spears's first two studio albums, ...Baby One More Time and Oops!. She is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning pop icon Britney Spears is one of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in pop history

After Brittany Spears and Justine Timberlake broke up, she disappeared for awhile. Once back in the limelight, Brittany started acting weird. In 2004, unbeknownst to her record label, she secretly wrote an album called "Original Doll". This album included a song about a girl who had been cloned. The song was called "Mona Lisa". Allegedly, her record label didn't want anyone to hear it, but Brittany did. Brittany walked into a radio station and had them play Mona Lisa. After that, she wasn't illegally allowed to put out any of that music.

Later, Brittany Spears' music video called "Break The Ice" was released. The video portrays her destroying a highly secured laboratory with several clones, including one of herself.

There was also two popular DJs that claimed Brittany Spears and Justin Timberlake both died in a car crash and so they were cloned. One of the DJs was named Keith Kramer and the other one was Tony Longo aka Twitch from the Ellen Show.

Brittany's voice also changed a lot during the years. She went from a big powerful voice to the baby voice we know today. It is rumored that doing the baby voice damage her vocal cords permanently.

In 2007, Brittany Spears shaved her head and seemed to go a little crazy.  One of her previous managers theorized that at the time she didn't really go crazy. The claim was she did this because she didn't want to take a drug test and that if she had failed the test, her kids would have been taken away.

Was she really a previous meth addict that just wanted her kids? Some claim that she was working for the Bush administration and every time there was controversy surround their campaign they'd bring forth a scandal involving Brittany to distract the public.

In 2006 is when a lot of people were pissed off at Bush for the Iraq war situation. That is also when the child welfare services started investigating Brittany Spears. Also in 2006, there was a important midterm elections for republicans and it wasn't looking good for them thanks the the Bush Administration. Around this time is when Brittany announced that her and Kevin Federline were getting a divorce.

This brings us back to 2007 when Brittany supposedly went crazy. Just before, Bush had announced that al-qaeda was reformed, which was contradictory to the campaign promises he had made.

During this time, Brittany came out with her album called "Blackout". Much to the surprised of many people, that album was a huge success. People wondered how she pulled it off amidst the stuff she was going through. Some people suggested that it wasn't really her that was singing on the album and that it was her backup singer was Maya Marie.

Aaliyah Was Killed By Her Pilot.

🎶Aaliyah Dana Haughton🎶

"I want people to remember me as a full on entertainer and a good person."

She was a recording artist, actress and model who was ahead of her time. Aaliyah's nicknames were Li-Li and Baby Girl. She was playful, compassionate and caring. She was a prankster. Aaliyah loved to sleep, play word games, shop at Fred Segal in Los Angeles, and eat breakfast food, even late in the afternoon. She also loved reading Harry Potter books.

Aaliyah was born in Brooklyn on January 16th, 1979 to Diane and Michael "Miguel" Haughton. She was raised in Detroit. Aaliyah was destined for stardom. She started voice lessons shortly after she learned to talk. At age 11, Aaliyah opened for her aunt, Gladys Knight in Las Vegas. She signed a contract with Jive Records at the age of 12. She studied dance at the Detroit High School for the Fine and Performing Arts and earned a 4.0 GPA. At fourteen, Aaliyah released an album produced by R. Kelly, called, "Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number", which sold more than 1 million copies.

Rumors swirled that she had married Kelly when she was only fifteen and he was twenty-seven. Aaliyah denied it, even though a marriage certificate was found in a Chicago county clerk’s office.

Aaliyah's second album, "One in a Million", dropped in 1996, and sold 2 million copies. It also launched its producer-songwriter team, Timbaland and Missy Elliott, to stardom.

By the time Aaliyah was 18, she was on top of the world with a successful string of critically acclaimed, best-selling albums and singles.

Aaliyah began modeling for Tommy Hilfiger and taking acting lessons, which led to a starring role in the 2000 film, "Romeo Must Die", as well as the role of Akasha in Queen of the Damned, which was released after her death. She had also been cast in both of the sequels to The Matrix, which she had started shooting in L.A. before her death.

Her third record, Aaliyah, released in July 2001, was already gold when she flew to Abaco Island in the Bahamas to finish the video for the album’s third single, “Rock the Boat,”.

The self-proclaimed "street but sweet" Aaliyah was poised to become a global icon. Her life was tragically cut short, when she died in a plane crash on August 25, 2001, on her way back to Florida.

On board the ten-seat twin-engine Cessna 402B with Aaliyah was the pilot, Luis Morales III, and seven members of her crew: video-production director Douglas Kratz, bodyguard Scott Gallin, hairstylists Anthony Dodd, and Eric Forman, Blackground Records executive Gina Smith, makeup artist Christopher Maldonado, and friend Keeth Wallace. Less than a minute after it took off, the plane crashed just a few hundred feet from the runway. Aaliyah was among six passengers dead at the scene with three others passing away hours later.

The cause of the crash was due to the aircraft being over it's maximum weight by 700 pounds during take off. Also there was one more passenger than it was certified to carry. The pilot was to blame was well. He had falsified the number of flight hours he had in order to get his license. He also lied about how much time he had flown from his last employer. When they did his toxicology report, traces of cocaine and alcohol in his system.

Aaliyah was laid to rest on August 31st, 2001. Her funeral was closed to the public, but hundreds of her fans lined Park Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side as the singer’s casket was carried to St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. At her funeral 22 white doves were released to symbolize each year of her life.

Later, a public memorial at Cipriani 42nd Street was attended by more than 3,000 mourners.

Sinister Songs

"Every Breath You Take" The Police

It's a 1983 hit song and is considered by many to be one of the greatest love songs of that time. Oh boy, were they mistaken. It's not a song about a guy deeply in love with a woman, it's not that he is infatuated by her and wants to be her lover. The lady in the song is the singer's ex and he is stalking her.

"Every breath you take, every move you make, every bond you break, every step you take...

I'll be watching you"

The singer, Sting, wrote it after he left his wife for her best friend. Sting has never denied this fact either.

"I woke up in the middle of the night with that line in my head, sat down at the piano and had written it in half an hour. The tune itself is generic, an aggregate of hundreds of others, but the words are interesting. It sounds like a comforting love song. I didn't realize at the time how sinister it is. I think I was thinking of Big Brother, surveillance and control." said Sting.

Sting claims that he is flabbergasted by the fact that there are people out there that still think that it is a tender love song.

Sting said "One couple told me 'Oh we love that song; it was the main song played at our wedding!' I thought, 'Well, good luck.'

"Imagine" John Lennon

Written and released in 1971, it's the best selling song of the former Beatles solo career. It also has become a anthem for world peace.

The song is really about world peace, but the lyrics are virtually the Communist Manifesto. Lennon even stated this fact was true.

"'Imagine', which says: 'Imagine that there was no more religion, no more country, no more politics,' is virtually the Communist Manifesto, even though I'm not particularly a Communist and I do not belong to any movement," Lennon said.

Lennon stated that he was always more a socialist than a communist.

Lennon was under FBI surveillance and had been for sometime, so when he was murdered by a crazed fan in New York City, some people thought it was a government hit for his controversial views.

"Hit Me Baby, One More Time" Brittany Spears

It was Brittany Spears first hit single when it came out in 1998. She was 17 at the time of the song's release. In the music video, Spears is dressed as a student from a Catholic high school,

When played in reverse, it sounds like Brittany is saying "Sleep with me, i'm not too young," in the chorus.

"Hotel California" The Eagles
Some people think that this 1977 song is about devil worship. The band's guitarist, Glenn Frey, wrote the lyrics and he originally said that "We decided to create something strange, just to see if we could do it." Supposedly the song was meant to mimic the imagery of the 1965 novel The Magus by John Fowles, about a man in an unfamiliar rural setting who is unsure about what he is experiencing.

When played backwards some people say that it sounds like the lead singer, Don Henley calling to Satan. I don't really hear it but i could be wrong.

"Gonna Raise" Hell Cheap Trick

Originally released on Cheap Trick's 1979 album Dream Police, the subject of the has been disputed. Some people have believed that the song was about the Jonestown Massacre, but it was written before that event took place. Others think that the song is about not being able to change the world so you might as well do what you want. The composer of the song, Rick Nielsen, claims that the song is about "religious, political and nuclear fanatics."

When played backwards some claim that the message "You know Satan holds the key to the lock".....

"Better By You, Better Than Me" Judas Priest

The song was released 1969 by Spooky Tooth. In 1978 it was covered by heavy metal band Judas Priest. Seven years later, the song became the center of controversy when the band was the subject of a civil lawsuit alleging their recording was responsible for the suicide attempts of two of their loyal fans in Sparks, Nevada. It was alleged that the song had subliminal messages and when played backwards it urged the listeners to "Do it, do it, do it."

America's Oldest Teenager: Dick Clark

Dick Clark
Richard Wagstaff Clark was a TV personality known for the shows American Bandstand, $25,000 Pyramid and TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve among others. Sometimes known as "America's oldest teenager," Dick  was one of the most influential figures in popular music. With his show American Bandstand, he helped advance the careers of countless artists, including Paul Anka, Barry Manilow and Madonna.

He was born on November 30th, 1929 in Mount Vernon, New York to Julia and Richard Clark. His only sibling, older brother Bradley, was killed in World War II during the Battle of the Bulge.

In school, Dick was an average student. When he was 10 years old, he decided to pursue a career in radio.

In 1945, Dick was only 16 years old when began working in the mail room at WRUN, a radio station in New York, that was owned by his uncle and managed by his father. Dick was asked to fill in for the vacationing weatherman, and within a few months he was announcing station breaks.

Dick graduated from Syracuse University in 1951 with a degree in advertising and a minor in radio. While attending Syracuse University Dick worked at WOLF-AM.. After graduation, he returned to WRUN for a short time where he went by the name Dick Clay. After that, Dick got a job at the television station WKTV in New York. His first television-hosting job was on Cactus Dick and the Santa Fe Riders, a country-music program. He later replaced Robert Earle as a newscaster.

Dick owned several radio stations. From 1964 to 1978, he owned KPRO in Riverside, California under the name Progress Broadcasting. In 1967, he purchased KGUD-AM-FM
 in Santa Barbara, California.

In 1952, Dick moved to Pennsylvania, where he took a job as a disc jockey at radio station WFIL, adopting the Dick Clark handle. WFIL had an affiliated television station which began broadcasting a show called Bob Horn's Bandstand in 1952. Dick served as a regular substitute host when Horn went on vacation. In 1956, Horn was arrested for drunk driving and was fired. On July 9, 1956, Dick took his place.

Bandstand was picked up by the ABC television network, renamed American Bandstand, and debuted nationally on August 5, 1957. Due to Dick's natural rapport with the live teenage audience and dancing participants as well as the non-threatening image he projected to television audiences, the show was a hit. Many parents were introduced to rock and roll music thanks to Dick. He helped to integrate the dance floors of a "Black and White" America by inviting black dancers to his show in 1958 just one year after American Bandstand started. Under Clark's influence, American Bandstand became one of the most successful and longest-running musical programs of all time.

In 1958, The Dick Clark Show was added to ABC's Saturday night lineup. Viewership exceeded 20 million, and featured artists were "virtually guaranteed" large sales boosts after appearing.

In 1959, a television tribute to Dick had an estimated viewership of  50 million people.

Clark became more invested in the music publishing and recording businesses, and began managing artists, hosting live sock hops, and arranging concert tours.

Dick Clark was inducted in the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 8th, 1960.

Also in 1960, when the United States Senate began investigating  the practice in which music producing companies paid broadcasting companies to favor their products, Dick became caught up in the scandal. The investigation found he had partial copyrights to over 150 songs, many of which were featured on his show. He denied he was involved in any way, but admitted to accepting a fur and jewelry from a record company president. The Senate could not find any illegal actions by Dick, but ABC asked him to either sell his shares in these companies or leave the network so there was no conflict of interest. He chose to sell and continue on as host of "American Bandstand", which was unaffected by the scandal.

Dick moved American Bandstand from Philadelphia to Los Angeles in 1964. He became more involved in television production. Under his company Dick Clark Productions, he produced such shows as "Where the Action Is", "TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes", and more recently, "So You Think You Can Dance", as well as made-for-television movies. Dick also hosted television's "$10,000 Pyramid", "TV Bloopers and Practical Jokes" with co-host Ed McMahon, whom he introduced to Johnny Carson. He also hosted "Scattergories", and "The Other Half". Clark also had several radio programs, including "The Dick Clark National Music Survey", "Countdown America", and "Rock, Roll & Remember"

Dick Clark said on one episode of The $100,000 Pyramid he married Kari Wigton on 7/7/77. At the ceremony there were 7 candles and 7 people in the wedding party. Actor John Davidson's father officiated at the ceremony, and they asked if he could finish the whole ceremony in 17 minutes, which he did.

In 1972, he produced and hosted the very first edition of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve". New Year's Rockin' Eve soon became a cultural tradition, airing on ABC every year with Clark as host. Neither Dick Clark nor his wife drank, even on New Years Eve.

Dick Clark was a huge Flintstones fan and owned a "Bedrock" inspired estate in Malibu, California worth a cool 3.5 million dollars.

In December 2004, Dick suffered a minor stroke and was unable to host, so Regis Philbin stepped in as a substitute. The stroke had left him speech impaired but he returned to host New Year’s Rockin’ Eve show in 2005 along with “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest.
The following year, Clark returned as co-host alongside primary host Ryan Seacrest. Many were worried about Clark due to his slurred and breathless speech, and he admitted on-air he was still recovering but that he wouldn't have missed the broadcast for the world. The following year, Seacrest became New Year's Rockin' Eve's primary host, but Clark always returned for the countdown.

Dick has received several notable awards including four Emmy Awards, the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1994, and the Peabody Award in 1999. He was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1976, The Radio Hall of Fame in 1990, Broadcasting Magazine Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame.

Dick had been in St. John's hospital in Los Angeles after undergoing an outpatient procedure the night of April 17, 2012. Dick suffered a massive heart attack following the procedure. Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and he died the next morning of April 18, 2012. He was cremated on April 20, and his ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean.

Marian Anderson was the first African American to perform with the New York Metropolitan Opera.

Marian Anderson was one of the most celebrated American singers of the twentieth century. She became an important figure in the struggle for black artists to overcome racial prejudice in the United States. She was recognized and adored for her talent as a recitalist and for the warmth, grace, and dignity that she embodied professionally and personally.

Marian Anderson was born on February 27, 1897, in Philadelphia, to John Berkley Anderson and Annie Delilah Rucker. Her father died when Marian was only ten. He had been accidentally struck on the head while at work at the Reading Terminal, just a few weeks before Christmas of 1909, dying of heart failure a month later at age 34.

Marian's mother went to work cleaning and doing laundry to support her three daughters. Marian was determined to give something back to her mother and began with the very first $5 she earned singing.

The Union Baptist Church in Philadelphia, her family belonged, gave Marian her start as a singer in the choir, and continued to support her throughout her early career. Marian could not afford lessons with a professional voice teacher, so the church gave a concert to raise the money for her lessons. Her early career as a soloist grew from her performances at the invitation of other churches and church groups who had heard her sing at her church in Philadelphia.

Marian won first prize in the New York Philharmonic voice competition in 1925, and was immediately signed by a concert manager.

In 1939, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), refused permission for Anderson, to sing to an integrated audience in their Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. Thousands of DAR members, including First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, resigned from the organization because of this.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Walter White, executive secretary of the NAACP, helped arrange an open-air concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial for Anderson. The concert had a crowd of more than 75,000 people and a radio audience was in the millions.

During World War II and the Korean War, Anderson entertained troops in hospitals and bases.

Later in 1955, she became the first African American to perform with the New York Metropolitan Opera. This was the only time she sang opera on stage.

In 1957, Anderson sang at the inauguration of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who later made her a goodwill ambassador. Anderson worked for several years as a delegate to the United Nations Human Rights Committee giving concerts all over the world.

She participated in the civil rights movement in the 1960's. Anderson sang at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The same year, she was one of the original 31 recipients of the newly re instituted Presidential Medal of Freedom. Anderson began her farewell tour at Constitution Hall on October 24, 1964. It ended at Carnegie Hall on April 18, 1965.

Anderson died of congestive heart failure on April 8, 1993, at age 96. She had suffered a stroke a month earlier. She died in Portland, Oregon, at the home of her nephew, conductor James DePreist. She is interred at Eden Cemetery, in Collingdale, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia.

Fashion Designer Marc Jacobs Is Getting Sued By The Band Nirvana

In 1992, Marc Jacobs was 29 years old designer for the American sportswear label Perry Ellis. He seemed unable to find a clear vision for the brand, or for himself. One runway show changed his life.

His 1993 spring “grunge” collection referenced the music scene that had sprung up in the US Pacific Northwest. Critics hated the plaid shirts, striped knits, and floral maxi dresses, accessorized with beanies and Converse sneakers that looked like it came from a thrift store. Perry Ellis let Jacobs go soon after. Oddly, the show elevated his career.
Last November reissued the collection under his own label with the use of Nirvana's "Smiley Face” logo drawn by Kurt Cobain.
This has landed him at the receiving end of a lawsuit.

On Dec. 28, 2018, Nirvana filed a complaint in a California court accusing the Marc Jacobs brand of copyright infringement.
The suit concerns a graphic in the reissued grunge collection with a strong resemblance to the Smiley face logo that was trademarked some time around 1992.

Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose Threatened Nirvana's Kurt Cobain

Former Guns N’ Roses manager Doug Goldstein shared some new details of the argument Axl Rose and Kurt Cobain had back in 1992 at the MTV VMA Awards.

“Look, Axl loved Kurt and wasn’t necessarily a big fan of Courtney. So me, Axl, and Stephanie Seymour are walking across the area where everybody is sitting and eating, and you hear is, ‘Oh look it’s Asshole Rose and his supermodel girlfriend!’ It was Courtney. Axl just went over and told Kurt, ‘Look, shut up your girlfriend or I’ll knock you out.’ None of the band members of Nirvana said anything until they walked out onstage, and Krist Novoselic is trying to make himself look like a tough guy. Really Kurt, where were you? You never came to our dressing room? If you have that much of a problem dude, bring it up.”

Kurt Cobain's Daughter Gets a Restraining Order Against A Former Associate Of Brittany Spears.

Frances Bean Cobain  and her mother, Courtney Love, have been granted a five year restraining order against Sam Lutfi, the judge noting that Lutfi "seems to prey on people".

The judge made the order for five years instead of the usual three against the former associate of Brittany Spears. He even recognized Lutfi
from his days with Spears and remarked,
“Why do people get involved with someone like that?"

Lufti served as Spears’ manager during the mid-2000's when Spears famously melted down and was hospitalized on several occasions.
He later sued Spears and her family for defamation, settling the lawsuit years later.

Courtney Love's attorney commented,
“The escalating verbal harassment and threats of Sam Lutfi left no choice for Courtney and her family but to seek protection. The Cobains are grateful for the anti-harassment order issued by the Los Angeles Superior Court against Mr. Lutfi and the powers it provides law enforcement to assure that Mr. Lutfi terminates all contact with the family.”

Did you know that Frances Bean Cobain’s ex-husband Isaiah Silva is suing Courtney Love and Sam Lufti for allegedly trying to have him murdered to get back Kurt Cobain’s MTV Unplugged guitar?
The guitar was supposedly a gift to Isaiah from Frances.
Isaiah claims that in the early hours of June 3, 2016, Sam Lutfi, along with 2 other guys burglarized, robbed, assaulted, sexually battered, kidnapped and attempted to murder him at his West Hollywood Home.
Isaiah also claim that his mother was injured in the attack.
He is also suing John Nazarian, actor Ross Butler and musician Michael Schenk, claiming they were also involved.
Isaiah says that they made their way inside his house by pounding on the front door and yelling,
"Police, open up!!!” and “LAPD, open the f******* door!!!”
He also alleges that Lutfi grabbed Isaiah's genitals through his pants, moved to within inches of his face and whispered,
“Listen fa***t, calm the f*** down or we’ll drag you upstairs and take turns f****** you.”

Courtney involved in an alleged murder plot?
What a surprise!

FBI Agent Says Dirty Cops Corrupted His Investigation Into The Murder Of Biggie Smalls.

Phil Carson, a former FBI agent, has claimed "dirty" LA cops deliberately derailed his investigation into the murder of Biggie Smalls.
He says some of those "at the top" of the LAPD worked to protect the rogue cops Carson believes helped plot the still unsolved murder.
He also says those involved in the cover-up include those in the department’s Robbery-Homicide Division
and he says he an prove it.
Carson says that Biggie's death was a highly choreographed hit using police radios and maneuvers.
That all of this suggested an intimate familiarity with law enforcement.
Carson said that Biggie’s killing was orchestrated in the same way that other crimes committed by corrupt former police officers David Mack, Rafael Perez and Ruben Palomares were.
He also knew Mack and Perez had close ties to Suge Knight and Death Row Records. Many clues point to cop-turned-robber David Mack and mortgage broker Amir Muhammad.
They deny having any involvement in Biggie's Murder.

Danzig wants to do a Elvis Covers album.

Danzig has plans to release his long-awaited Elvis covers album next year.
He is also going to try to do Elvis covers only live shows.
"I'm still looking to put it out in 2019, and maybe do a few intimate shows here and there for it.
But I don't know.
We'll see. If the record's not out,
I'm not gonna do [the shows where I sing nothing but Elvis covers. So it depends on my schedule and if I can get it together and get the cover and everything together and pick the songs.
Because every time I have downtime, or if I was working on soundtrack stuff, I would just record another Elvis track or two, so what started out as an EP, I now have more than enough for a full album"
