Antranik Geuvjehizian "G-12"
Antranik was born on September 17th, 1963 in Beirut, Bayrūt, Lebanon.
He was the an L.A. County Deputy and the bailiff in the O.J. Simpson trial. Besides providing security for the court, he was the one responsible for sequestering the jury. He also lived in the same neighborhood as Judge Lance Ito. On July 19th, 1995, Antranik was shot and killed after taking the trash out in his neighborhood in South Los Robles Avenue, in Pasadena.
It was about 9:30 at night and as 31-year-old Antranik was taking out the trash when he noticed a masked prowler in his neighbor's yard. He then pursued that prowler while Antranik's wife call police. There was some screaming and yelling and then the prowler shot Antranik. By the time the police got there, the shooter was gone. Antranik was transported to a local hospital where he died in surgery at 4:30 a.m.
The following day, Judge Lance Ito suspended the trial in remembrance of Antranik.
Shortly thereafter, 29-year-old Terrance Keith Patridge was arrested as a suspect in the shooting. In January of 1997, he was found guilty of Antranik's murder and sentenced to 54 years in prison. In total, he was sentenced to 373 years in connection with other cases that included rape, sexual assault and burglary.
