Who Killed Beloved Teacher, And Mother Of 5, Sara Starr?

📚Sara Elizabeth Shubert Starr📚
"I'm so humbled by the love of God's people. His faithfulness is greater than I ever could have imagined. I have had needs met, prayers answered and reminders that God is in control with all things in His perfect time. My testimony is growing daily and my joy comes from Him. I can't wait until I can share all the amazing ways that God has been working in my life. I pray that someday I will be a blessing to others by sharing His love the way it has been shared with me. In the meantime, just know that if God would do it for me, He can (and will) certainly do it for you."
-Sara Starr

Sara was born on March 14th, 1979 in Kansas to Rhonda and Michael Shubert. She was a mother of four. Her children were the loves of her life. She loved them more than anything else. Sara loved her parents, grandparents, siblings and other family members. Teaching was always her dream. She was a beloved 4th grade teacher and excelled in the classroom. Photography, books, flowers and gardening were some of her many interests. Sarah always smiled and would do anything for anyone. She lived close to and attended Union Grove Baptist Church.

On Monday, November 27, 2017,  when 38 year old Sara didn't show up for work at Harrand Creek Elementary School, her co-workers became worried. When they went to her home on County Road 647 just outside of Enterprise, Alabama to check on her, they found her deceased in her carport. Sara had been shot once in the head. Investigators surmised that Sara was shot sometime around 6:30 a.m. while she was walking from her front door to her car.

Thankfully, Sara's children weren't home at the time. They had spent the previous night at the home of their father, Jason G. Starr. After a very long process that took years, their divorce between the children's parents had been finalized four months prior to Sara's murder. However, they remained involved in court proceedings until her death. In fact, Jason was served with a child support withholding order just several days before Sara died. Their divorce was a heated one.

Jason allegedly had an alibi and was not named as a person of interest in her murder.
Last year, 45-year old Jason, an aviation safety officer at Shell Army Airfield, had to surrender his passport following his arrest for molesting a young child. He was charged with Sexual Abuse of a Child Under the Age of 12. He had to hand over his passport to authorities, and was forbidden to have contact with minor children as a condition of his release from jail on $30,000 bond. He plead not guilty and filed a formal request to the court to have his trial moved outside of Coffee County “to the nearest county free from prejudice.”

Close to two years later, Sara's case is far from cold. The FBI is involved and authorities have some kind of DNA evidence that point to the suspect, but that is all we know at this point.

If you have any information, no matter how small, PLEASE call the Coffee County Sheriff’s at 334-894-5535.
