Retrial Of Sidney Moorer For The Disappearance Of Heather Elvis Starts This Week.

The jury is selected and Sidney Moorer's retrial for the kidnapping of Heather Elvis is ready for it's opening arguments. Opening statements are expected to begin on September 10th in Myrtle Beach. Sidney’s previous trial on kidnapping charges in 2016 ended in a hung jury. Sidney faces kidnapping and conspiracy charges in connection to the December 2013 disappearance of Heather Elvis.

 In October of last year, a jury found Sidney’s wife, Tammy Moorer, guilty of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and kidnapping in Heather’s disappearance. A judge sentenced Tammy to 30 years on each charge, but those sentences will run concurrently.
