Breiton S. Ackerman Fell Off A Bridge And Was Never Seen Again.

Breiton S. Ackerman
Breiton’s nicknames were "Melon head" and "B." He loved playing with his toy farm, and his sisters. He would ride his tricycle up and down the cattle barns. Breiton and his father would take four-wheeler rides together after chores.

Breiton was born on July 10th, 2000, in Orange City, Iowa to Brad and Beth (De Jong) Ackerman. He was raised in rural Alton and attended Orange City Headstart and Covenant Kids Preschool. He was a baptized member of the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Orange City.

He was 4 years when he went missing near Alton after falling off a bridge while he was fishing with his family on May 22nd, 2005.  Willow Creek was normally shallow, but the creek, running through a corn field, was swollen with rain. The area was extensively searched. Divers, volunteers and search dogs scoured the creek. They followed it 17 miles to the Floyd River in Le Mars, Iowa. Then, they searched the Floyd River down to the Missouri River. Searchers tore up the concrete bridge Breiton was last seen on. Volunteers dug up the creek bed with heavy equipment. They even scoured the mesh fencing strung across the creek, but Breiton was not located.

Breiton was last seen wearing a green tank top and denim shorts. He was 40 pounds, 3'0" tall with sandy hair and hazel eyes.

Authorities thing that Breiton either drowned or might have wandered off and been abducted or possibly had some kind of accident.
