"It is with a heavy heart and great difficulty that we have an important update regarding Brandon’s case. Our family’s long-awaited journey to find answers draw near. For years, we have gone to great lengths to search the area of Brandon’s last known whereabouts. Many searches have been conducted in various ways to locate any potential clues. We have had a circle of supporters assisting us in locating Brandon throughout this process.
Recently, one of those advocates led a small search party in the vicinity of Brandon’s last known location. The search team came upon some clothing that were consistent with Brandon’s clothing. Authorities in local law enforcement were contacted and were able to take the evidence in for testing. The Texas Rangers conducted a search that ultimately led them to discover human remains in this same area. Although DNA tests are needed to confirm identification, it in our hearts that we know that it is Brandon."

He had four children and lived in San Angelo, Texas.August 9th, 2013, Brandon and his girlfriend, Ladessa, had a little fight and he was going to leave to clear his head for awhile.
According to his brother, Kyle, the fight was over drugs. Brandon had been sober for six months when he called his brother up to ask for some drugs. His brother tried to talk him out of it, but Brandon went and picked up his friend Chris and allegedly got high.
The 911 call can be difficult to make out. It sounds like Brandon is a little inebriated. He says something like "i ran into him. It's not the first time." and that he needs the police.
1:02 a.m., the Coke County Sheriff’s office received another call from a trucker who tells them that there is a vehicle on the side of the road, but sticking out partially in the highway.
Around the same time, Kyle placed a call to Brandon asking for the specific location of his truck. The phone call reception was poor and his calls kept being dropped. Kyle stated that on one of these calls he heard Brandon say “I’m 10 minutes away, hurry up and get here. I’m bleeding.”
At 1:10 am, Kyle arrived at Brandon’s truck. Kyle received a call from Brandon while at his truck in which he only understood Brandon as saying “I’m in the field.” He also told Kyle to run as Coke County Sheriff’s Deputy Neal pulled up beside the vehicle.
There was no visible damage to Brandon’s truck and his keys and wallet were not inside. His cell phone was also missing.
What do you think happened to Brandon?
And what do you think he says on the 911 call?

i think that some kind of fight happened, he was hurt and ran into some kind of woods.
i think that is where he made the 911 call.
i think that possibly he was 10 minutes away, by car, not foot.
After the fight, Brandon made a call to his father, Brad Lawson, who lived just under a four hour drive away.
Brandon explained to his father that he had gotten into an argument and wants to come out to his house and spend the night there. This call is made sometime between 10:45 and 11:53 pm, Brandon’s father tried to talk him out of making the trip and told him to just take a few minutes to calm down and to go back home. His girlfriend called him sometime after this, and told him to go to his brothers or come home.

Before Kyle can have dinner he gets a call from his mother to go back to Brandon's house to calm Brandon down because he was "flipping out".
As Kyle is on his way to Brandon's house, he received a call from Brandon telling Kyle that Ladessa got some "Mexicans from the neighborhood" to chase Brandon out of town. He told him that there were two of them still chasing him but a state trooper pulled over the third one. Brandon then hung up.
A few minutes later, Brandon placed another call to Kyle and told him that he needed some gas. Kyle told him that he had to stop by Brandon's house to get a gas can first.
When Kyle arrived at the house, he asked Ladessa what happened. She said that Brandon just was "trippin'" and just "flipped out." Kyle grabbed the gas can and left.

The Lawson family will not be made aware that Brandon called 911 that night until much later when they review his cell phone records.
Kyle didn't mention Brandon to the deputy, nor that he may be nearby as he was aware that there was a warrant out for Brandon.

4:30 am, Ladessa woke up and found missed calls from both Brandon and Kyle. She listened to her voicemail and found several messages from Kyle in which he is frantically looking for his brother. First, she attempts to call Brandon but all of the calls go straight to voicemail. She then called Kyle who tells her that they haven’t found any sign of Brandon and that he going to leave the gas can in the bed of Brandon’s truck and go home. Planning to resume searching when the sun rises.
When Kyle arrived back to the truck, the deputy is gone.
At 9 a.m. Ladessa immediately called the Sheriff’s department to ask if they have found Brandon, but they tell her they have not.
Ladessa, Kyle and several friends and family members also conducted a ground search, but were severely limited as many of the land owners along Highway 277 wouldn’t allow them to search their property.
The final official search was conducted on October 24th, and utilized 6 cadaver dogs and members of Texas Search and Rescue who also utilized the dogs trainers for the search. Nothing was found.
Kyle returned to the truck and filled the gas tank. Extremely worried, Kyle decides to call the police and tell them the whole story. The response of law enforcement was not hurried, as they seem to take a stance that Brandon was not missing, but has chosen to flee due to his outstanding warrant. In fact, the first major search conducted for Brandon was done by plane which Ladessa paid for. She would pay for two more later.
The Police conduct their first search on Tuesday, August 16th. Their first search is done by plane utilizing infrared cameras. Then, some thirteen days later, Police finally conduct a ground search in which they cover 2,500 acres of land surrounding the site where Brandon’s truck was found abandoned.
