The Denver International Airport
It replaced Stapleton on February 28, 1995.
It was 16 months behind schedule and cost of $4.8 billion.
Which was nearly $2 billion over budget.
The airport is twice the size of Manhattan.
Its the largest airport in the United States.
A lot of people don't understand why the Denver International Airport replaced the Stapleton in the first place.
The Stapleton was a fully functioning airport closer to downtown.
The Denver International Airport is supposedly in the middle of nowhere.
Some people think that the runways look like a swastika.
The murals, painted by Leo Tanguma, look kind of creepy.
The dedication marker in the airport inscribed with the words "New World Airport Commission".
There is no official record of the "New World Airport Commissions."
There is large underground baggage system not being used.
Some people thinks its really a bunker.
Allegedly, when the airport was first built, five of the buildings got screwed up. Instead of removing them, they're said to have been buried.
The Blue Mustang by Luis Jiménez.
One of the earliest public art commissions for Denver International Airport in 1993.
Blue Mustang is a bright blue cast-fiberglass sculpture with glowing red eyes and is 32 ft tall.
Luis was killed while working on the statue, when a piece of it fell on his leg, hitting an artery.
There are gargoyles too.
