KAYLAH HUNTER AND KRISTIAN JUSTICE
KAYLAH HUNTER AND KRISTIAN JUSTICE went missing on May 24th, 2014, from Detroit, Michigan.
They were last seen in the company of their mother, Alicia Marie Fox, who was later found deceased.
On June 9th of 2014, Alicia's badly decomposed body was found wrapped in blankets in the basement of a vacant house on Penrod Street on the west side of Detroit. She had been shot twice in the head. The house was three doors down from where Erin Justice's cousin lived.
Erin Justice allegedly confessed murdering Alicia to his childhood friend Timothy Bernard Jones. Erin said that he was in the midst of arguing with Fox and blacked out. When he came to, he was shooting.
Jones admitted to police that he went to Erin's home where Alicia's body was tucked away in a crawl space. He said he helped Erin move Alicia's body where she eventually was found. Jones said that the children were still alive at that time he had helped move the body. Jones was charged with evidence tampering, concealing a death, and being an accessory to murder and was sentenced to two to five years in prison.
On June 11th, 2014, Erin was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia and charged with first-degree murder.
During the investigation it was revealed that after reportedly killing Alicia, Erin rented a U-Haul and drove it 300 miles between May 27 and May 29 without ever leaving Detroit. He also had sold Alicia's Chevrolet Impala to a junkyard in Taylor, Michigan. By the time the police tracked it down to inspect it for evidence, it had already been stripped. Erin then took a flight to Alanta.
When Erin's house was searched investigators found traces of blood on the ceiling of the upstairs bedroom and a bullet hole lodged inside of one of the walls.
Alicia had a beloved white pit bull who was very protective of Kaylah and Kristian. On June 19th, it was found running loose on West End and Vanderbilt in Detroit with strangulation marks around its neck and cigarette burns on its face and chest. It’s believed that Erin had sold the dog to a dogfighter or unauthorized breeder.
In September of 2015, Erin took a plea deal for second degree murder. He’ll spend at least 47 years in prison. Erin has refused to speak about the whereabouts of the children.
Alicia and the kids had been living in the 1800 block of Ardmore Street in Detroit, Michigan with Erin, Kristian's father, for four months and had move out shortly before they vanished.
An Amber Alert was never issued because no one new any of them had been missing until Kaylah missed her kindergarten graduation, on June 6th, three days before Alicia's body was found.
Kaylah Hunter
Kaylah was born on November 8, 2007.
She has brown hair and brown eyes.
At the time of her disappearance, she was 4ft5in. tall.
She weighed 65 lbs.
Kristian Justice
Kristian was born October 2, 2013.
He has brown eyes and brown hair.
He was 2ft tall at the time of his disappearance.
At the time he was 17 pounds.
