She seemed like a happy little girl. She was born a ray of sunshine. She was so sweet and was always smiling. Everybody loved her. Christie was bright, bubbly and a little mischievous. She was a lot of fun to be around.

She liked to be called Christie. She was born on April 7th,1976 to Jennie Johnson.
In 1984, 8 year old Christie lived with her mother, her sister Alison and live in boyfriend Larry Jackson in Greenacres City, Florida.

It was Saturday, Memorial day weekend. The four took a trip up to central Florida, their last stop was DuBios Park.

The next day, May 27th, Jennie went and got Christie a Wendy's kids' meal and then put on the Beatles' Cartoon "Yellow Submarine." Jennie had been driving all night and she was tired so she laid down for a nap along with the rest of the family.
Around 2:30 p.m., Christie went two blocks away from her home to Greenacres Grocery (now Belk's General Store) to buy some cat food for her newborn kittens named "Booboo" and "Skeeter."  The grocery store was so close, it was visible from Christie's front yard. Christie made the journey to the store barefoot wearing a turquoise sundress and carrying a few plastic bottles she intended to exchange for money. She did make it to the store, but then vanished without a trace.

When Christie's sister, Alison, woke up around 8:30 p.m., she noticed that Marjorie wasn't home. She waited about 30 minutes and then told her mother. Jennie and the rest of the family went to a few of the neighbors and made a few phone calls, but there was no sign of Marjorie. At 10:15 p.m. the police were called.
For two weeks, detectives knocked on doors and interviewed over 50 people.
They learned that Christie might have stayed at the store until 6 p.m. playing video games or went to a nearby park.

Realizing that they were getting nowhere, the detectives called the Palm Beach Sheriff's office and the FBI for assistance.

After Christie's disappearance, two suspects were arrested for molesting her best friend who was 6 years old at the time.
The perpetrators were named were Charles and Willis Rambo. They lived near Christie. Prior to her disappearance, Christie had visited their house several times, and a witness had seen Charles give her money.

Police searched the brothers' house and property after, but found no evidence to implicate them in her case. Both men denied any involvement in her disappearance.

Both brothers pleaded guilty to lewd assault in the abuse of Christie's friend, and were sentenced to ten years' probation. In 1993, Willis was sentenced to four life terms in prison for sexually abusing his two stepdaughters. Charles now lives in Tennessee. He was never registered as a sex offender because before 1994, there was no federal law governing sex offender registration and notification in the United States.

They weren't the only suspects in Christie's disappearance.

Authorities were also looking into Victor George Wonyetye Jr. Wonyetye. He was already a suspect in the disappearance of
Tammy Belanger. His parents lived not far from where Christie lived. He was a golf course worker in 1984. He was reportedly seen outside the grocery store the day she disappeared, and he also attended a party in her neighborhood. A short time after Christie went missing, he moved to New Hampshire.

Wonyetye had a criminal history of sexual offenses against young girls. He had been released from prison in 1983 on charges of molesting his step-daughter.

Wonteye was incarcerated for burglary in Florida in 1992. At the trial, prison inmates testified that he admitted killing Luna and Tammy. He was was released from prison in 2012 and died eight months later. He was never charged in connection with either Tammy or Luna's cases and there was no physical evidence linking him to either of the girls' abductions.

In 2010, authorities named Delbert Mosher was another possible suspect in Christina's disappearance. He lived in the area at the time she disappeared, and was arrested three times for child molestation. He died in a Tennessee prison over twenty years after Christina went missing.

William Ferris was another suspect in the case. He lived near the home of one of Christina's friends at the time of her disappearance. The friend's home was just on the other side of the block from her route to the store, and Christina could have reached the house by cutting through yards. The friend wasn't at home that day, but if Christina's had tried to visit her she would have passed Ferris's house. He moved to Virginia within a year of Christina's disappearance. He was later arrested for child molestation in Virginia and is presently serving a life sentence.

Ferris initially denied knowing her. In a later police interview he admitted he did know her, because his wife sometimes babysat for Christie's friend. Ferris's wife claimed that one day when the two girls were playing together, Ferris said one of them was going to disappear someday. After Christina went missing, he said that they would never find her and that is was off of Alligator Alley. There is no evidence to implicate him in her case, however.

Investigators released two composite sketches of a man who may have sexually attacked Christie in a park bathroom on the day she disappeared. Detectives cautioned, though, that the description comes from a woman whose recollection of being attacked along with Luna has been questioned by another friend, who says the woman is mixing two childhood memories.

Christie's mother moved away after her daughter disappeared, but later moved back into the same house where she lived with Christie in 1984. She still lives there and still hopes for answers in her daughter's case. Foul play is suspected in Christie's disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.

At the time of her disappearance Christie was 8 years old 4'0" tall, 60 pounds with Brown hair and hazel eyes. She had a strawberry birthmark on the right side of her back, near her hip, and a scar on her right arm. She had a slight speech impediment and her teeth were crooked. Christie was also hearing-impaired.
