Like Father Like Son: The Todt Family Murders.

The Todt family moved to Celebration, Florida from Colchester, Connecticut. Anthony Todt was working in Connecticut from Monday through Friday and flying to Celebration on the weekends. Anthony's wife, Megan, would stay in Celebration with the kids. The children were home schooled.

Last year, in 2019, Anthony's physical therapy license expired, he was under investigation by the Connecticut Attorney General, and he was hit with an eviction order from the family home in Celebration. He was also in over $100,000 in debt.

On December 29th, 2019, a sheriff’s deputy knocked on the door of a tidy storybook home in Celebration to check on the family inside. A relative had called from out of state saying she’d been unable to reach the family of five. When no one answered the door, the deputy left.

Still unable to reach anyone in the family, on January 6th, 2020, they were reported missing. Concerned loved ones created a Facebook group called “Looking for the Todt Family,” writing that they were “Worried sick!” and “Praying for their safe return.”

On Monday, January 13th, 2020, sheriff’s deputies accompanied federal agents from the Department of Health and Human Services to serve a warrant on Anthony for an unrelated charge. They made a horrific discovery. The bodies of 42-year-old Megan 12-year-old Alek, 10-year-old Tyler, and 3-year-old Zoe along with the family dog, Breezy, were found inside. Armed police escort Anthony out of the home and arrested him at gunpoint. He confessed to killing his family and the dog sometime around Christmas of 2019. Anthony was taken to the hospital first because he had taken “some pills” and made comments about self harm.

Anthony has not yet entered a plea. It is unclear if he has retained an attorney who can speak on his behalf. He remains held in Osceola County Jail.

When i get more information about Megan and the kids i will post it. All i know right now is that Megan was a Yoga instructor and she also co owned the physical therapy business that Anthony ran. It appears that she had no idea about the financial difficulties. The older kids had music lessons. One of them played the piano. Also, one of the kids liked to play soccer as well. As for Anthony, well, you know that it is easier to find information the guilty party compared to the victims.

Justice For Megan Todt And Children

In 1980, when Anthony was 4 years old, his father, Robert Todt was a special education teacher and wrestling coach at Bensalem High School. Anthony had a little sister and a mother named Loretta.

At the time, Robert was also having an affair with a 17-year-old girl and was engaged to a young nurse in the neighboring town. Soon Robert and the nurse began to solidify plans for their wedding. This is when he approached a former student with significant learning disabilities named John Chairmonte. Robert told John about a "special assignment" he had for him and gave John a gun and a key to his house.

John was struggling with addiction and was drunk as he walked through the Todt house. He made is way clumsily towards the front bedroom, bumping things along the way. Loretta sat up right as he fired the gun. Two shots were fired, one bullet missed and the other one pierced her left eye and it lodged near her brain. John took off, but stopped on the front lawn to vomit.

Loretta wasn't the only one that was awakened by John's clumsiness. Little Anthony was up as well and witnessed the whole thing. This left him with nightmares.

With a missing eye and a bullet still sitting in her skull, Loretta watched the lengthy trial against her husband and remained convinced of his innocence. Robert also adamantly maintained his innocence and even testified in his own defense. He insisted that the near-murder was a home invasion.

After weeks of testimony and evidence, Robert was convicted and served 10 years in jail.

Several years after the conviction, after Loretta Todt had moved from Pennsylvania to Connecticut and divorced her husband, she  had accepted that Robert tried to have her killed.
