Did Tanner Ward Kill Himself? Or Was There Something More Sinister Going on?

Tanner Ward
He was born on September 7, 1997 in Trenton Missouri.
He went missing on June 7, 2017.
He was engaged to be married and had a baby girl he loved with all his heart.
Just before dinner, he left his house and told his mom he was going to meet one new friend, Jeremiah and be gone about 30 minutes and to save dinner for him.
He never returned.

The next day, Tanner's sister Kelsey, finds out where Jeremiah lives and goes to see if she could find her brother.
She knocked on the door, but no one answered.
The door was unlocked, so she let herself in.
The whole apartment looks trashed.
There was a hole in the wall and overturned furniture.
In the mess, she finds her brother's baseball cap he always wears.
She takes the hat to the police, who inform her that he probably just went to blow off some steam.

A few weeks later, Kelsey is hanging up flyers when she runs into Jeremiah, who appears to be wearing the shirt her brother was wearing at the time he disappeared.
So she went back to the police station.
Without much cooperation from Jeremiah, the police do a forensic test on the shirt.
There were some spots that looked like blood they had tested.
He also had a voice stress test.
His results came back of being deceptive.
Then the police went out to Jeremiah's dad's house.
Cadavar dogs get a hit on a burn pit, outside the back door.
All they find his animal bones.

About six months later, kids on their way to school heard a creek over head.
They looked up and saw a body in a tree, hanging from it's neck.
They then called police.
The body is badly decomposed.
The fingers are mummified and the feet are missing.

In order for mummification you have to have whatever is being mummified has to be wrapped in something.
You also have to have extreme cold or a lack of moisture.
Mummification destroys a lot of evidence as well.
And why were the feet missing?

The chief of police call Tanner's dad to the scene.
There was shoes pants and socks underneath the tree.
The dad calls Tanner's mom and tells her the police found a body, but they are not sure yet if it is Tanner's.
An autopsy is conducted and they check dental records and find out that it is Tanner.
The preliminary finding of cause of death is suicide.
The only injuries that were apparent were that of a fall.

The family doesn't believe Tanner killed himself.
They then are flooded with tips saying that Tanner was hung and tortured for months.
An eyewitness at a construction site, right by where Tanner was found hanging, said he never saw Tanner in that tree, up until the day Tanner was found hanging from it.
There were also other various witnesses that say the passed by and even played under the tree and never saw a body.

Tanner had problems with the law a while before he disappeared.
Was on felony probation from an incident in 2016, over a drug deal.
This is the were some of the text messages the family received, after his death, come into play.
The text messages state that he was killed for retribution over this incident.
This involved Jeremiah and upstairs neighbor, Stephanie Miller.
Stephanie Miller's daughter was one of the people that Tanner had held hostage in the incident involving the drug deal.

The family hired an independent pathologist to do a second autopsy.
I couldn't find the results of this.

In April, 2018, the official cause of death was released as a suicide.

  1. I have to say I honestly don't think it's a suicide. Jeremiah was wearing Tanner's T-shirt and Tanner's baseball cap was in Jeremiah's house which was completely vandalized. Plus if Tanner had been hanging there for so long how is it that there was no smell of the decomposing body and what about his missing feet? He was finally getting his life back together, he has a beautiful baby girl. Why on earth would he just throw it all away?

  2. There should be a conclusive autopsy finding by now. There should also be the DNA evidence results... Yet nothing has been updated or released. The case is still open until these things are pinned down. Going to the police will never reveal anything more than basic knowledge because they cannot release information in an ongoing investigation.

  3. How did they find the body with a shirt on but the rest of his clothes underneath him, how would all of his clothes just fall off they would they would still be hanging on to the body maybe not perfectly but they would not just neatly fall off the body and he wouldn't have just hung himself with nothing but a shirt on. And his feet wouldn't just disappear they would have done the same as his hands that makes absolutely no sense at all. There is so many holes in this story

  4. Ummm… the feet. The feet alone should prove it wasn’t suicide. I want to know more about the feet as well. We’re they neatly cut off? Butchered off? I mean, you don’t cut your feet off and then climb a tree and hang yourself. You can’t!
